658 installation, October 14, 2022
In collaboration with Gary Hush
ArtCity’s BEAM 2022 event
Park Blocks, Eugene, Oregon
Earlier this year, I helped clear out the home I grew up in, which had been in my family for 59 years. Sorting through my old personal objects took me on a deep dive through time, searching for clues of what made me the person I am today.
This installation is part of my processing around memories, the effects of my environment, patterns, beliefs and relationships. It’s sort of a house of becoming me.
Participants were encouraged to explore the window portals, open doors, watch videos and listen to my childhood recordings through the telephone. Blacklight flashlights let participants uncover hidden clues written on the walls.
