Zoe Troupe celebrates early animation — proto-film 19th century zoetrope technology — on hand-painted umbrellas, aided by tools like a GIF maker app and strobe lighting with 3-D printed parts, and then brought to life by old-school spinning.
The Umbrella Project, presented by ArtCity Eugene and City of Eugene Cultural Services, is a roaming, time-based art experience that provides ambiance and brings an ever-changing and engaging display of live illuminated artistic encounters.
